Pros and Cons of Partial Dentures
Pros:
- Economical
- Can be done rather quickly
- May look like real teeth
- May be a good temporary solution while waiting to get implant treatment or during implant healing.
Cons:
- May need training to get used to it
- May get loose from time to time
- The bone and gum under the denture may shrink with time and the denture needs periodic repair or replacement.
- Anchoring teeth may deteriorate due to daily pounding.
- Patients who have tori on lower jaw or palate cannot tolerate dentures.
